
Some groups in particular are at greater risk to develop oral thrush, including the following:
Babies
Diabetics whose diabetes cases are not well controlled
Denture users
Individuals taking antibiotics or corticosteroids
Individuals with an immune deficiency (such as HIV/AIDS and chemotherapy patients)
Individuals with new oral piercings who have usual contact with yeast
Individuals with poor nutrition (especially deficiencies of vitamin A, folate and iron)
Sexually active individuals with a partner who has thrush
Smokers
Women experiencing hormonal changes
